Disable YouTube Comments while using Chrome

Are you tired of the comments at YouTube being full of profanity or irritating to look at? Now you can watch videos minus the comments with the No YouTube Comments extension for Google Chrome.

Before

Sometimes reading through the comments at YouTube can be interesting or even fun but at other times they can be a bother to you. It all depends on the contents of the comments (i.e. lots of profanity) and what you would like to have visible while watching videos.

After

Once you have installed the extension all that you will need to do is refresh the page (if you were already watching a video). As you can see any and all signs of the comments section is gone. All nice and clean now…

Conclusion

If you love to check out your favorite videos on YouTube but are annoyed by the multitude of meaningless and profane comments, this extension for Chrome gets the job done.

Backup and Restore Hardware Drivers the Easy Way with Double Driver

One of the more tedious aspects of reinstalling an operating system is finding all of the drivers for your hardware again. Many times you may not have the CD for a new hardware device, and even if you did the drivers on the disk are likely out of date.

Instead of going through all that hassle, you can simply use a great utility called Double Driver to help restoring drivers the easy way.

Using Double Driver

After installation go ahead and launch Double Driver and click on the Scan button to begin detecting the drivers.

Once the scan is complete you can choose specific drivers to save or select them all.

To back up the drivers just press the Backup button. Choose a directory to back them up and click OK.

You will get a progress screen while the drivers are being backed up.

All of the drivers are placed into their respective folders automatically for easy management.

Another handy feature is printing out the divers list or saving them as a text file. This comes in very handy if working on multiple PC’s at a time.

Enable Hidden BootScreen in Windows Vista

The Windows Vista BootScreen is pointless,but Microsoft decided to hide a more visually appealing boot screen that can easily be enabled with very little trouble. I’m not sure why they didn’t make the boot screen better.

If you really want a better boot screen, you can check out my article on creating a custom boot logo.

Here’s the default boot screen:

And here’s the hidden one, called “Aurora”

All you have to do is type msconfig into the start menu search box, and hit enter.

Click the Boot tab, and then check the “No GUI boot” checkbox.

Hit OK and reboot the computer. You should see the new boot screen immediately.

Note: You may get a Windows Defender error on the next startup. You can enable the system config utility using the tray icon and this error will go away.

Reduce the default 10 seconds timeout of scandisk...

u all get angry or annoyed because of disk checking comes up whenever u boot up or u want to
go for disk checking but takes 10 second to start
now u can reduce this timing and also increases as u wish
follow the simple step

go to Start menu -> Run -> cmd
and press enter...

now give the following command at command prompt....
CHKNTFS/T:4

where 4 is the amount of waiting time...

for more details about this command, type CHKNTFS/? at command prompt and press enter...

for info of this command sign "?" necessary i.e "CHKNTFS/?"

Fixing "BOOTMGR is missing" Error While Trying to Boot Windows Vista

If your Windows Vista computer has encountered the dreaded "BOOTMGR is missing" error, you aren't alone. If the problem isn't hardware related you can fix it with relative ease as long as you have a Windows Vista DVD handy.

If you don't have one, you can create a Windows Vista repair disk using our guide.



Boot off the Windows Vista DVD and then click Next at the first prompt:



You should see a link in the lower left-hand side for "Repair your computer"



The installation process will attempt to find your Vista installation directory. If there's more than one in the list, select the correct one and then use the Next button again.



Click the first link for "Startup Repair"



The installation process will repair the system, and then prompt for you to reboot.



Alternatively you could have chosen the Command Prompt option instead, and use the following command to fix the boot options only:





At this point you should be able to reboot your computer, remove the DVD and everything should be working.

Remove Windows Logo During Boot Up In XP

Are you sick of looking at the Windows XP logo when you boot up your computer? Here is a quick tip on how to disable it.

Click Start \ Run and type in 'msconfig' and hit Enter or click OK.



Next in the System Configuration Utility select the BOOT.INI tab and place a check next to /NOGUIBOOT. Click Apply then Ok. Now when you reboot your computer you will not see the XP logo, just a blank screen.



Keep in mind that if something errors out during boot, there will not be any visual cues.

Turn off Disk Performance Monitors...

In Windows 2000 and XP, Performance Monitor disk counters for physical disks are turned on by default, disk counters for logical disks are turned off by default. You can disable all disk monitoring by running this command on the command prompt...

To turn it on again run this command

when you restart the computer.

Enter: Activate (Double-click) selected item(s).
Alt + Enter: View properties for selected item.

One of the keys whose importance may have gone unnoticed by most of us is the Control key (Ctrl). The Control key in combination with the 26 alphabet keys can make a lot of our work easier than we think. The following pair of keys can come in handy when we want tasks faster than while using the mouse.
